Inventor Biography Mike Heppert, M.Ed. Mike Heppert earned his B.S. in Health and Physical Education and his M.ED. in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University, and was certifiied as a Fitness Instructor by the American Academy of Sports Medicine. Before founding The Life Institute, Heppert served as an Assistant to the Headmaster and Physical Education and Athletic Director for St. Michael's School where he developed his first health and fitness based PE Programs.
![]() For the past twenty years, Heppert has been converting school buses into mobile gymnasiums that provide gymnastics based health and fitness classes to children, beginning at the preschool age, when basic health and fitness attitudes, habits, and skills begin to form. The weekly classes emphasize purposeful fun and personal success in each child. Sessions include age-appropriate health lessons that focus on proper nutrition, personal health, and child safety. Currently, hundreds of children attend gym bus classes throughout the Metro Richmond area. Much of the company's continued success results from its unique ability to maximize fun and personal success in the pursuit of long term physical fitness. Mike Heppert is currently the president and founder of NewWayFitness, as well as the inventor of the Physical Activity Rewards System, and the Moving Grooving for Life, and Movin for Life Programs. Heppert has been creating and implementing educational and fitness programs to encourage lifelong physical activity since 1975. |
